The week-long painting project is set to begin June 15.\n \n\nRamirez believes that community engagement is an important aspect of his work as a mural painter and that communities thrive when given the opportunity to engage directly with the process\, creating a feeling of belongingness and a lasting tie to the project. Therefore\, a Community Paint Day is set for Saturday\, June 18 from 10am-12pm at the 220 N. Benton Street site. The public is invited to meet and watch Ramirez in action\, learn about the process and then pick up a brush and take part in painting a section.
