?Woodstock Fine Arts Association offers multiple $1,000 college scholarships each year to high school seniors who reside in McHenry County. Presented in honor of former WFAA board member Helen Wright, the scholarships are awarded to students who have involvement and ability in music, theatre, visual or literary arts. In 2017, the Fine Arts Association awarded 10 scholarships to students who attended McHenry County high schools as well as two home schooled students.
All applications must be received by (or postmarked) February 28, 2018.?

On April 26, 2018, at 5:30 p.m., on the opera house stage, Woodstock Fine Arts Association will present the Scholarship Talent Showcase. The showcase will feature performances and art presentations by this year’s scholarship recipients. This is a free, public event at the Woodstock Opera House that all are welcome to attend. The event requires no reservations or tickets. Doors open at 5 p.m. and a reception in the opera house community room will immediately follow the event .
For over 50 years, Woodstock Fine Arts Association has been dedicated to promoting the arts in McHenry County and preserving the Woodstock Opera House. The nonprofit association has ?produced vibrant arts programming for all ages, provided scholarships to students, and dedicated resources to preserving the Woodstock Opera House. The WFAA season’s only fundraising event is the annual Spring Luncheon, which will be held on May 4, 2018 at Boulder Ridge Country Club.
