Manufacturing Pathways Consortium Hosts Talent Timeline Event
[November 4, 2024. Crystal Lake, IL] The Manufacturing Pathways Consortium hosted the Talent Timeline educational event on Wednesday, October 30 at McHenry County College (MCC). More than 70 members and guests participated in a fast-paced roundtable event that followed the lifecycle of career awareness and exploration activities that culminate in an individual electing to join the manufacturing industry.
Six teams of presenters highlighted specific segments of career activities that begin in early elementary grades, engage students in middle school, and continue with hands-on activities through high school and college. The event recognized the many touchpoints where local industry is involved in building awareness of the career opportunities that await within manufacturing.
The Manufacturing Pathways Consortium, convened by McHenry County College, includes 92 manufacturing firms, representatives from each high school in the county, and 42 community partner organizations. Formed in 2019, the Consortium's sole purpose is to expand the talent pipeline into manufacturing. Members volunteer for teams focused on Career Exploration and Preparation, Collaborative Hiring, Alternative Talent, Marketing and Communications, and Governance and Steering.
