WFAA - 38th Annual Spring Luncheon
“Why the Arts Matter” Is Featured Topic at WFAA Spring Luncheon May 4
Presentation by WTTW theater and dance critic Hedy Weiss
(April 2108 – Woodstock, IL)
Woodstock Fine Arts Association holds its annual Spring Luncheon on Friday, May 4, at Boulder Ridge Country Club, Lake-in-the-Hills. WTTW’s Chicago Tonight theater and dance critic Hedy Weiss will share her insider’s report on Chicago’s golden age of the arts, why the arts matter to our youth, and how they transform our communities. Weiss is a former Chicago Sun-Times arts critic, a three-time Pulitzer Prize panelist for drama, and a Jeff award-winner for her support of emerging theaters, artists, new works and recent adaptations.
The luncheon begins at 11 a.m. Guests can socialize, peruse the vast array of silent auction items on display, participate in the 50/50 raffle, and delight in light appetizers before lunch is served. There will be a cash bar, featuring this event’s signature drink of Prosecco garnished with fresh raspberry. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. Silent auction items include: dinner-theatre packages, hotel getaways, jewelry, floral arrangements, salon packages, a Cubs ticket package, fine artwork, handmade artisan creations, and much more. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted to purchase silent auction items. To preview the items, check www.woodstockfinearts.org beginning May 2.
Guests may choose between chicken piccata or grilled vegetable ravioli in marinara sauce as entrees. Dessert is New York style cheesecake with raspberry sauce.
