About Us

Situated on the downtown historic square in the heart of the community, the Woodstock Opera House is one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in the country and one of the most recognized historic theatres in the mid-west. The Opera House is owned and operated by the City of Woodstock and hosts a variety of programming and events each year on our mainstage and the very popular Stage Left Café which features live entertainment by local artists and musicians. Since 1889, The Woodstock Opera House has stood as the center of performing arts in McHenry County. Today, the Woodstock Opera House is dedicated to providing quality accessible arts experiences that entertain, educate and inspire artists and arts supporters of all generations.
