"Here Fishie, Fishie!" Treasure Hunt (Business Registration)
Dear Woodstock Business Owner,
We're excited to invite your business to participate in a fun, family-friendly community event that will encourage families to explore Woodstock while building excitement for an exciting new children's theatre production at the Woodstock Opera House!
Join the "Here Fishie, Fishie!" Treasure Hunt
August 15 – September 12, 2026
Families will pick up a FREE Treasure Hunt Passport at participating business locations and then visit participating Woodstock businesses to "catch" a hidden Rainbow Fish swimming somewhere inside each location.
It's a fun way to encourage families to discover local businesses while supporting literacy, the arts, and shopping local!
How It Works
- We'll provide your business with a Rainbow Fish display.
- Place the Rainbow Fish somewhere inside your business for participants to find.
- When a participant finds your Rainbow Fish, simply have a staff member sign their Treasure Hunt Passport.
- Participants who visit every participating location and return their completed passport will be entered into prize drawings.
The grand prize drawing will be held during the Woodstock Farmers Market on Saturday, September 19, following a special reading of The Rainbow Fish by Miss Arlene at 10:30 a.m.
Prizes include:
- A framed Rainbow Fish book cover image
- Copies of The Rainbow Fish
- Rainbow Fish statues from participating businesses
Why Participate?
- Drive additional foot traffic into your business.
- Introduce your business to new families and visitors.
- Be part of a community-wide event celebrating literacy, local shopping, and the arts.
- Help launch an exciting new family theatre series at the Woodstock Opera House.
This event is made possible through a partnership between the Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Friends of the Woodstock Opera House, Artisans of Main/Clayworkers' Guild of Illinois, Read Between the Lynes, and Woodstock School District 200.
The treasure hunt helps build excitement for the professionally produced performances of The Rainbow Fish, directed by Billy Seger and Cassandra Vohs Demann, at the Woodstock Opera House on Saturday, September 26, with performances at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Friday performances are reserved for District 200 school groups.)
Reserve Your Fish by August 7!
Whether you're located on the Historic Woodstock Square or elsewhere in Woodstock, we'd love to include your business as an official Treasure Hunt stop.
Please register by Friday, August 7. We know it's a quick turnaround, but we're excited to bring this brand-new community event to life and hope you'll join us in making it a success!
Participation is free, and we'll provide your Rainbow Fish display along with everything you need to take part.
